FullView Media Uses Two-Way Communication System Provided by Tripp Communications Systems
Lenny Ferreira has been producing webcasts and video campaigns in real time since 2002, when he and his partner Denise Woodward founded Fullview Media.
“I’m the one in the back of the room who’s directing the whole operation, and there’s lots of pressure when we’re live-streaming an event,” explains Ferreira. “To deliver a high quality, professional presentation I need everything to function flawlessly – from our broadband connection, to our recording console to our microphones.”
FullView Media’s Communication Needs
One piece of equipment Ferreira never worries about is the two-way communication system called ListenTALK sold by Tripp Communications Systems. It allows him to communicate easily and reliably with his camera operators, whether they are only a few feet away, just around the corner, or up to 100 meters away, in an entirely different room.
“We needed something that was small, wireless and affordable.”
– Lenny Ferriera, Fullview Media
Fullview Media first used the communication system when a major multinational agricultural company hired them to produce an annual town hall meeting in Guadalajara, Mexico. The company’s CEO and top executives would be speaking in a downtown hotel to an audience of about 75, but the meeting was broadcast live to more than 500 growers and operations managers at over 20 locations in California, locations in Europe, Morocco and China, and in other parts of Mexico.
Ferreira knew he needed effective, real-time communication with his camera operator during the webcast, but he couldn’t take a chance on what he had been doing – texting on his phone and using the local cell service. Instead, he decided to give ListenTALK a try.
Reliable Two-Way Communication System
“The system works perfectly for what we’re doing, even if it is primarily used in factory and museum tours,” he says. “The alternative is a video production intercom system that is more expensive, tends to break down quickly and comes with headphones that are huge and bulky.”
The system’s two-way communication capability makes it easy for Ferreira to talk to his camera operator about how to improve shots, discuss camera angles and go over next moves. Instead of fumbling with his cell phone to compose a text, he simply holds down a button on the transceiver, talks into a boom mic that’s built into his lightweight headset, and he’s speaking directly with the camera operator.
Ferreira has other applications in mind for the communications system, too. “Sometimes we use drones to film outdoor events and the drone operator might be a block or even two blocks away from where I’m directing. But with the equipment’s outdoor range of 200 meters I will still be able to communicate clearly with the operator, without any problems.“
